How to Sew an Easy Skirt

How to Sew an Easy Skirt

When I bought material for my guys matching Father and Son shirts I didn’t originally plan on making a skirt for my daughter. However, when we were finished making the skirts I had a lot of extra material left over since my son didn’t want me to make the matching shorts. So I thought it would be cute to make a skirt out of the same material. That way my daughter could match her papa and brother on Father’s Day.Β How to Sew an Easy Skirt

I knew I wanted to make a skirt that was really easy. Plus, I Β wanted one that could be made quickly. So, I went to youtube where you can find a lot of easy sewing tutorials. I just searched for “how to make an easy skirt”. I found a really great tutorial for a simple skirt by Dana whose youtube channel is MADE Everyday.

This video was really easy to follow. I liked that this skirt tutorial easily allows someone who is just learning how to sew to make something in less than an hour. It’s a great confidence builder when you are learning to sew to find some easy projects that you can conquer in a day.

My daughter’s skirt turned out great. Plus, it was comfortable for her to wear and play in all day.

This skirt turned out so cute, Sonya! And I love that your hubby and son match her. It’s a shame you didn’t have enough material left to make you a skirt too. What a cute little matching family set that would be :). You’re really growing in your sewing skills! I’m always jealous to see your latest creation ;).

Yeah…I wish I had more of this material. But I got it from Hancocks when they were going out business. They were out of business by the time I even started sewing on the shirts. One day I will have to make some matching family outfits πŸ™‚

I feel like once I start, I will want to do this all the time. All the great prints!! You get limited by not making your own skirts.
