Rediscover McDonald’s: 5 Reasons to go to McDonald’s if it’s been a while

**Disclosure: As a brand ambassador for Central Arkansas McDonald’s I am being compensated for this post. However, all opinions are 100% mine.**

When is the last time you went to McDonald’s? Up until last summer, it had actually been years since I last ate at McDonald’s. But when my kids got coupons for FREE McDonald’s Fries over the summer after seeing a Ronald McDonald magic show, they were both excited to go. So we went and I noticed that a lot had changed over the years. So today, I want to share FIVE reasons you should visit McDonald’s if it’s been awhile. If you are like me, you will be pleasantly surprised.

#1. The Menu

The first thing that I noticed that day last summer, there are a lot more healthy eating choices on the menu at McDonald’s. And, there are smoothies on the menu; strawberry banana and pineapple mango. Yum! My daughter really loves the smoothies. She said they were way better than the ones I make…lol.

There are also fruit options like Apple Slices and Cuties, which are great side options for kids. Go-Gurt is also one of the healthier side options available. Plus, McDonald’s has a great line up of salads made with a combination of romaine, baby spinach, baby kale and red leaf lettuce. I love a good salad and when I tried the side salad at McDonald’s, I was not disappointed.

If it’s been a while since you have been to McDonald’s check out the menu online for yourself.

#2. McDonald’s Commitment to Quality Food

Food quality is something that is very important to me. Especially when it comes to what I feed my kids. After that trip last summer, I went over to the McDonald’s website to find out what else had changed about McDonald’s. I found out that McDonald’s is committed to serving quality food. The milk used in Yogurt Go-Gurt Low-Fat Strawberry Yogurt and the low-fat milk jugs come from cows NOT treated with rbST, a growth hormone. Plus, McDonald’s sources chickens not treated with antibiotics important to human medicine. And all those burgers are always made with 100% beef, there are no fillers, additives or preservatives. In addition, McDonald’s is working on only using cage-free eggs by 2025. So far, McDonald’s already purchases 13 million cage-free eggs each year.

You can read about McDonald’s commitment to quality food on the McDonald’s website where they share a lot more about their food suppliers, sustainability and more.

#3. McCafe Drinks

Do you know about all the yummy McCafe drinks? You can order coffee, iced coffee, lattes and other coffee drinks. Then there are the smoothies and milkshakes. Hot chocolate and seasonal drinks are also available.  A huge treat, McDonald’s Shamrock inspired drinks are available through March 20th.

You should try one of the Shamrock drinks. I had a Shamrock shake last week and it was delicious!

The central Arkansas McDonald’s currently have Happy any Hour! You can get any size McCafe drip coffee for just $1. McCafe specialty drinks are only $2 for a small!

#4. Modern & Comfortable Dining Space

I had no idea how nice and modern the dining space is now in the newly constructed McDonald’s. Whether you like sitting at a table, a booth, or at a long table with bar stools, you will have a comfortable spot to dine at McDonald’s.

My daughter especially loves sitting on the bar stools and looking at Nick Jr. on the television that is attached to the wall.

#5. FREE Wi-Fi

And the last reason you should visit McDonald’s if it’s been awhile is for the FREE Wi-Fi. While you are enjoying the food and the comfortable dining space you can take advantage of the Free Wi-Fi. So you can scroll through your social media or you can even bring along your laptop and get some work done. Make sure you download the McDonald’s app for great deals and information!

When is the last time you visited McDonald’s?

I’m not a McDonalds lover at all. I went through a period where I had to eat McDonalds everyday because of budget restrictions and as much as I love french fries you can get tired of them. I love the fact that Micky D’s added salads to the menu a few years ago. McDonalds salads actually jumpstarted my weight loss journey. Maybe it’s time to rekindle an old love. Great Post Sonya.

That’s great that the salads at McDonald’s helped you to jumpstart your weight loss journey.

I haven’t eaten it in ages, but the free WiFi was a blessing to me in Alaska!
I do like that they have better items. My kids love to go when we’re on road trips and Scarlet loves the Shamrock Shake.

I had my first Shamrock Shake a few weeks ago and I loved it. I’m going to try the Shamrock Hot Chocolate the next time I go.

McDonald’s are great when you are traveling because they are usually close to the interstate. So it’s easy to grab something and get back on the road. 🙂

I have McDonald’s like maybe 3 times a year. But now since I learned more about how they help families with children in the hospital providing them a safe and warm place to stay, I have new found respect for McDonald’s.

Back in the day, they were my go-to place to eat when my money was short.

It’s great that they are able to help so many families with sick children through the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

I haven’t been to McDonald’s for quite some time, but my oldest daughter and my husband have a Shamrock Shake date every March. 🙂 Sometimes they’ll bring back fries.
    I’ve been craving a Big Mac. 🙂

That’s awesome that your husband and daughter have a Shamrock Shake date each year. This was my first year trying one and they are really good.

I have not been to a McDonald’s in ages even in the airport I tend to avoid them. Looks like they are making some good changes. #productreviewparty

Hey Keisha, McDonald’s has made a lot of great changes. I was really impressed the first time I went back after staying away for years. And I continue to be impressed the more I learn about McDonald’s.

I’m not a fan of McDonald’s at all. Also, I am trying to focus more on cooking meals instead of fast food and delivery to stay in my new budget. However, I will admit your reasons are pretty tempting.
