Let me just start by saying that I love giveaways!!! And I especially love it when I actually win a giveaway. A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to win a giveaway on Facebook hosted Heather’s Dish. So what did I win? A set of passes to a VIP night for Little Rock’s newest movie theatre, Movie Tavern Little Rock.
I was really excited when I learned that I had won this giveaway. Because it meant that my husband and I would get to go on a fun date. Best of all this fun date would be FREE…lol.
Before entering this giveaway, I was completely unaware of Movie Tavern theaters. However, after a quick google search, I learned that Movie Tavern theaters offer so much more than your traditional movie theater. At Movie Tavern you can get a full restaurant experience at the movies, because they offer in-theater dining.
I like this concept a lot because it is such a time saver. When my husband and I have movie and dinner dates I often feel guilty about how much time it takes. I often feel like we need to rush through dinner so that we can get back to our kiddos.
Our Movie Tavern Little Rock Experience
Let me start by saying we had a wonderful time at the Movie Tavern Little Rock VIP night. Upon arriving at the movie theater we checked in and were able to choose what movie we wanted to watch. The options were Black Panther, Game Night, or Peter Rabbit. We choose Black Panther and were given our movie passes for the night. Next, we were given two tickets for the drinks at the bar and then we headed into the lobby of the theater.
Once, in the lobby, we saw that there were appetizers and drinks being served. There was also a cool photo booth area set up where you could have your photo taken and printed out. We headed over to the photo booth and got our picture taken.
Then I spotted some fellow Arkansas Women Bloggers and chatted with them for a few minutes before it was time for the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Next, up it was time for us to head to the theater so we could place our food order before the movie started.
Before we ordered the manager of Movie Tavern Little Rock explained how the Movie Tavern experience works. He advised arriving 30 minutes early whatever movie you choose. So that you can have time to get to your seats and place your meal order before the movie starts. He also explained, that there are call buttons on everyone chairs. So you can call your server whenever you might need something. And my favorite part was learning that the chairs can fully recline.
After the manager finished his speech, our servers came around and took our orders. Since this was a special VIP night the full menu was not available. We were given a limited menu and were allowed to order an appetizer, entree, and beverage.
The ordering process went fairly quickly. I ordered Spinach and Artichoke Dip for my appetizer, a Pepperoni & Portabella Pizza for my entree, and water for my drink.
My husband ordered Fried Pickles for his appetizer, a Cheeseburger with Fries for his entree, and a Sprite for his beverage.
While we waited for our food, I tested out the reclining feature of the chair. 🙂
I loved that the Spinach and Artichoke Dip came with veggies and pita chips. I just ate the dip with the veggies, but my husband had some of the dip with the pita chips. The pizza was good, but it would have been a lot better if it was served hot. I’m sure they tried to prep as much food as possible for the night to make sure that everyone meals came out in a timely manner. However, that resulted in some of the food being served warm, but not hot. My husband’s cheeseburger wasn’t as hot as it would have liked it. However, both our appetizers were served hot. So we think it that some of the food being served warm was just an issue from prepping the food too early because of the VIP night.
Probably 10 minutes after our food was served the lights were dimmed and the movie started. I’m a slow eater, so I still had quite a bit of food still on my plate when the movie started. However, there was enough light available to still see my food while the movie was playing.
While my husband ate all of his food. I had a lot of leftovers. Thankfully, the Movie Tavern has to go boxes, so you take any leftovers back home with you.
By the way, Black Pathner was amazing and I can’t wait to see it again. My husband had a great time at the VIP Night at Movie Tavern Little Rock. Movie Tavern is a really great date spot and would even be nice for a family movie and dinner.
