McDonald’s Hot Chocolate + Christmas Lights= Good Times

**Disclosure: As a brand ambassador for Central Arkansas McDonald’s I am being compensated for this post. However, all opinions are 100% mine.**

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!!! I hope you just sang that in your best Andy Williams’ voice…lol. I LOVE Christmas!!! It’s my favorite holiday and it has been since I was a kid. I have always loved that there are so many fun things to look forward to during the Christmas season. One thing that I look forward to the most during the Christmas season is seeing all of the pretty Christmas decorations everywhere.

I love the fact that cities put up decorations along street corners. I love that businesses decorate the insides of their offices. But most of all I love seeing people decorate their home with Christmas lights. 🙂

When I was a kid I always looked forward to my mom driving my brothers and me around town at night so we could look at homes decorated with Christmas lights. This is a tradition that my husband and I continue to do with our children.

During the Christmas season, my family loves driving around the city to see the light displays along the streets. And also, driving through different neighborhoods to look at how people have decorated their homes with festive Christmas lights and decorations. And of course, we are listening to and singing along (sometimes badly) to our favorite Christmas music while we take these drives.

This year, we decided to change things up a bit before we headed out for a drive to look at Christmas lights and decorations. We decided to make a quick stop at McDonald’s so we could pick up some Hot Chocolate for the drive.

Well, our quick stop actually turned into a thirty-minute sit down visit. Like I said earlier, I love seeing Christmas decorations not just on homes, but in local businesses too. And because our local McDonald’s is beautifully decorated for Christmas we couldn’t resist taking a few pictures in front of their beautiful Christmas tree while we waited for our order.

Speaking of our order, we actually picked up three Peppermint Hot Chocolates and one regular Hot Chocolate, a medium Fry, and two Happy Meals toys. We sat and hung out at McDonald’s for a while we shared fries, sipped on our Hot Chocolates, the kids played with their Happy Meal Rainbow Dash train toys, and us adults watched part of an episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (don’t you guys love those TVs in McDonald’s).

This was my first time trying the Peppermint Hot Chocolate and they are really yummy. If you haven’t tried one, you should! Especially if you love peppermint and chocolate. My daughter declared that her regular Hot Chocolate was the best hot chocolate ever…lol. 🙂

Random Fact: Did you know that you can purchase Happy Meal toys without actually purchasing a Happy Meal? Well, you can!!! Now that I know this I plan on purchasing additional parts of the Holiday Express train set currently available at McDonald’s for stocking stuffers for my kiddos.

After, enjoying our Peppermint and regular Hot Chocolates, fries, and toys. We headed out for our drive and enjoyed seeing beautiful light displays while listening to Christmas music.

What do you love most about this holiday season?

This is such a cute post. I love the pictures of you and your brothers. That overall is everything, girl! You look cute in it. I try to take the kids to McDonalds at least once a week. They are now collecting pieces to put the train together, but I had no idea we could buy the toys separately. Thanks for sharing.

I’m glad you enjoyed the old school photos. I thought I was EVERYTHING in those overalls or any overalls for that matter. I had a few different pairs growing up. I hope your kids were able to collect all of the train pieces.

I usually drink regular hot chocolate, but the peppermint sounds like it gives the hot chocolate a twist! I used to love riding around looking at Christmas lights. I still do! Thanks for sharing!

Yep…McDonald’s has regular Hot Chocolate & Peppermint Hot Chocolate. The Peppermint Hot Chocolate was really good, but I love minty flavored drinks and foods. 🙂
