I had a mammogram this morning. I’m 35 so it was an early one, but I have been having some breast pain. When I went for my pap smear last week I mentioned it to my doctor. And although she didn’t feel anything during the breast examination she wanted me to get a mammogram just to be sure that it wasn’t cancer causing my pain. Thankfully, when I had my mammogram this morning they didn’t see anything from my images. So the doctor suggested that I take evening primrose oil to see if that helps with the pain.
I’m thankful that I finally got a police station visit scheduled for my son’s Cub Scout Pack. I had been calling our local police station since March and I had left lots of messages for the officer who is responsible for police station tours. He called me back once, but I missed his call. Even though, I called back and left messages several times after he called. He still never called me back (I’m sure he is extremely busy). So, I gave up on a tour of the police station in our town and decided to call a neighboring city. I’m so happy that I did because now we have a tour scheduled and the officer who is giving us the tour is a Scout Leader. So everything worked out perfectly.
I’m thankful that my son is very thoughtful. He has been teaching himself how to sew by reading kid sewing books from the library. And he has been using his new skill to make gifts for everyone. He sewed a wallet and some coasters for my mom. He made me a phone case. He primarily sews by hand, but he used my machine to sew a skirt for his little sister. He used his own money to buy Shimmer & Shine fabric for her skirt. Then he created a pattern for her skirt using a template from one of the books he checked out from the library.
I’m thankful for affirmations. My phone sent me this link for a Louise Hay affirmation on youtube and I have been trying to listen to it daily.

I’m thankful that I found some good deals at the mall yesterday. Crazy 8 is having a really good sale. They have their clearance items an additional 50% off and I had a 20% off coupon. And they have lots of winter/fall items on clearance. So I stocked up on fall shirts for my daughter. I got 8 long-sleeve shirts for $1.99 each and one sweater for $5. That was nine shirts for less than $24. 🙂
We also took advantage of the Dillard’s sale that is going on right now. Dillard’s is offering an extra 30% off clearance items. I got my daughter two new dresses for church. She LOVES dresses and was super excited that she got to try on dresses and then picked out two of them.
I’m thankful that my son is getting old enough to help out with yard work.
I’m thankful that we went on a fun homeschool field trip today. It was all about electrical safety and they had a magician to put on a show for the smaller kids to teach them about electrical safety. It was a fun way for the little kids to learn ways to stay safe. After the magic show, they had a few hands on demonstrations. One of the coolest ones was how to jump out of a vehicle if there is a power line on top of it and it catches on fire.
