Gratitude & Thanks: Antibiotics, Downton Abbey, and More
I’m thankful for antibiotics. I had strep throat and I was feeling miserable until my antibiotics started working. I waited way too long to go to the doctor after I got sick thinking I just had a sore throat and cold. Thankfully, I’m feeling back to normal now.
I’m thankful that my husband took care of my family while I was in bed sick.
Thanks, Amazon Prime for having all six season of Downton Abbey available for streaming. I had started watching Downton Abbey a few weeks before I got sick, but I was able to finish it up while I sick. I love historical dramas and Downton Abbey was really good. It was fascinating to see how an aristocratic family and their servants lived in the early 1900’s in England and what challenges they faced as the world changed.
I’m thankful that I’ve found another podcast that I enjoy. It’s an NPR podcast called How I Built This and it features stories from entrepreneurs and it tells how they started their businesses.
I’m thankful that weather has been really nice most of the time these past few weeks.
I’m thankful that I’m almost finished sewing a new dress for myself. I just need to hem it and press it and I’ll be finished with it. Hopefully, I can take pictures in it and write a post for it this week.
I’m thankful that my son is sticking to his New Year’s Resolution of being more crafty in 2017 🙂
I’m thankful that admission to the Clinton Presidential Library is FREE on President’s Day. They have a temporary exhibit on the Beatles that I have been wanting to see.
I’m thankful that Trolls is coming out on DVD this week. My daughter has been waiting for the day when we could buy it on DVD.
I’m also thankful to join the Sweet Progress winter box swap hosted by Mrs A.O.K.

I am sorry you got sick. My son had strep a while back and it is not easy. Don’t we just love our husbands? They are the best! Your children’s smiles always put a smile on my face. I need to check out that NPR podcast. I am thankful for my children’s health. We all got sick last week and it was not a good feeling.
I’m happy you are feeling better Sonya, having strep throat and being a mom while homeschooling must be torture. I need to learn how to stream from Amazon Prime because I love love love me some Dowton Abbey. I love your sons New Years Resolution! He sounds like my kind of kid 🙂

Hey Mary, when I’m sick just a little we still have lessons. If I’m sick but I’m able to get out of bed then we watch videos like School House Rock. When I had strep throat lessons were cancelled. I spent a few days mostly in bed and my husband held down the fort. 🙂
I think you can pay $8.99 a month for Prime Video or you can get the yearly Prime membership. I think you can also buy seasons from Prime. I bet your local library also have the seasons on DVD.
My son is so sticking to this resolution. My daughter and I want on a mommy-daughter date today and we stopped by the library because I thought I had a book to pick up off the hold shelf. But I was surprised to see that my son actually had about 10 books he had requested showing different crafts for every holiday you can think of…father’s day, St.Patrick’s day, and so many more. You would love him 🙂
I’m thankful you’re all better.
Okay, maybe I need to give Downton Abbey a shot. I’m like the only person in the world who hasn’t watched an episode.
That podcast sounds good. I could listen to podcasts and TedTalks all day, well, I need music in there to break it up a little, but I do enjoy steaming knowledge. 🙂
I can’t wait to see your dress, your skills still amaze me.
I’m also thankful that I’m FINALLY getting back into the swing of things.
xoxo
Thankful to have you join us!
XOXO
I’m excited to do another swap.
You should give Downton Abbey a try. I never watched it when everyone was talking about it. But it does live up to the hype. The guy that actually hosts How I Built This also hosts another NPR podcast call the TED Hour. Which highlights different TED Talks each week.
I’m glad to hear you are getting back into the swing of things.
Oh no, I hope you get well soon! It’s like there is a nasty bug going around, a lot of people here in Atlanta are getting sick.
I love that Trolls movie, I need to get it for myself. LOL!
Aw.. your son’s resolution is adorable!
I’m so thankful for antibiotics. I rarely need them, but when I do.. bam. Strep is rough. I had it once when I was in college, of all places, and binge-watching TV is the way to go!
