I’m thankful for affirmations. I’ve been starting my day by saying affirmations. For me, it’s been a good way to start out my day positively.
I’m thankful that we celebrated my mom’s birthday this week.
I’m thankful that my kids are healthy.
I’m thankful that my grandmother is physically strong at 84. Last week we went to her house to help her rake leaves and I thought she was going to out rake me. 🙂
I’m thankful that I’m back to blogging. My kids and I got colds early in the month. Then with the election results, I felt like staying off the internet for a few days. Then I decided to declutter closets and just got distracted with other things. But I’m glad that I’m writing this post.
I’m thankful that Thanksgiving is next week. My son has been so excited about Thanksgiving this year. He has been planning the menu for months now. So it will be nice for us to get to cook everything that he wants on the menu.
I’m thankful that we are taking the week off from homeschooling next week.
I’m thankful we have enough rewards from different apps to pay for Christmas gifts this year.
I’m thankful for PBS and all of the great programming that is available on their station and app. I especially love all of the Henry Louis Gates documentaries and I was happy to see that he has a new one on PBS called Black America Since MLK and Still I Rise.
I also love A Chef’s Life on PBS for showcasing Southern food in such a real way. Each episode highlights a different ingredient and shows how people in the South have traditionally used the ingredient when cooking. Then usually chef Vivian will put a spin on that ingredient for a menu item in her restaurant. I would love to go to Kinston, North Carolina to eat at Vivan’s restaurant Chef and The Farm one day. Also. I can’t wait to get a chance to look through her cookbook.
