I’m thankful that today is Friday 🙂
I’m thankful the movie The Best Man is on Netflix. I plan on watching it tonight when my kiddos go to sleep.
I’m thankful that my kids are starting to feel better. They haven’t had any fevers for the past three days.
I’m thankful for Spring produce at the grocery store. Like strawberries being on sale and 99 cents a pound yellow squash and zucchini.
I’m thankful that I’m finally getting the hang of cornrowing my daughter’s hair. Now I can braid it once a week and not have to worry about combing it daily.
I’m thankful for an encouraging mother who is teaching me how to sew.
I’m thankful that the pillows I made turned out really nice.
I’m thankful that I read an article on stress yesterday on the website TheChalkboardMag. I loved that they defined stress this way:
Stress has many dimensions but is simply defined as the “perception or experience of not being able to handle what life brings us,” i.e. we believe that we don’t have the resources – the energy, money, mood, etc.- to cope with what’s presented. It’s an attitude of overwhelm.
After reading this I’m now telling myself that I am capable of handling things that I think might be overwhelming. I tend to let life (being a mom, a homemaker, blogger) overwhelm me, but I am truly capable of handling all these roles. I just need to adjust my expectations. Because my mothering, homemaking, blogging isn’t ever going to be what is for some, but that’s ok. I’m still capable of being a good mom, homemaker, and blogger. I’m just doing it my way 🙂
I’m thankful that my family can grow some of our own food. Our seeds are growing and we will be planting them outside soon.

I’m thankful for fun educational games on pbskids.org. Instead of doing our regular lessons today we are going to play fun educational games, because I woke up with a runny nose today. So we are just going to make it an easy homeschooling day. We might even watch some Magic Schoolbus and Schoolhouse Rock today 🙂
