Small Gifts Make a Big Difference at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkansas

**Disclosure: As a brand ambassador for Central Arkansas McDonald’s I am being compensated for this post. However, all opinions are 100% mine.**

I recently celebrated my 36th birthday! This year, in addition to gifting myself a small gift, I decided that I would also celebrate my birthday by making a monetary donation to a local charity, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkansas (RMHC). The older I get, the easier it is for me to understand just how important it is to seek out ways to help others. Now, I’m not wealthy, so I’m not able to make big gifts, but I know that small gifts can add up to make a big difference.

RMHC’s mission is to provide a “home away from home” for families from all over the state of Arkansas who are traveling to Little Rock so that their children can receive pediatric care for a serious illness. While these families are in Little Rock, RMHC provides them with a place to stay, meals to eat, a hot shower, a play place, and friendly faces.

A $10 donation to RMHC will cover a one-night stay for a family of four. While also providing the family with access to FREE laundry facilities, a private pantry, kitchen facilities, playground and play area for kids, and more. See, I told you a small gift can make a big difference at RMHC.

Since I was celebrating my 36th birthday, I decided that I would donate $30 to RMHC. I was able to easily make my donation online. It feels good knowing that my small donation from the heart will cover three nights for a family coming to the Ronald McDonald House so their child can receive treatment.

If you would like to help RMHC, here are several ways to give a gift.

  • Use the McDonald’s Donation Boxes found in McDonald’s restaurants and at the drive-thru. My son always asks me for change to put into the donation boxes whenever we are inside the restaurants. I usually give him the change from our order.Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkansas
  • Shopping from their Wishlist. There are many household and personal items needed for RMHC to carry-out their mission. You can help by purchasing these items and donating them to RMHC. There are two ways this can be done: one is by clicking here to view the wish list, going to the store to purchase the items and delivering them to RMHC (1501 W. 10th St. Little Rock, AR). Or, you can shop for the items through Amazon Wishlist using the link found here and Amazon will ship the items directly to RMHC.

These are just a few of the ways you can help RMHC with their mission of providing “A Home Away from Home.” There are so many more ways to help RMHC achieve their mission and these other ways can be found by visiting their website.

Happy Birthday to me and blessings for RMHC.

Going to McDonald’s in my neck of the woods is like declaring war. Northern Californians are super healthy, not all of us but in the circles, I run in snacking on fries isn’t accepted. I didn’t grow up eating fast food so I don’t really crave it, well sometimes I crave their fries and breakfast sandwiches but it always passes. I got a kick out of it when you became a McDonald’s ambassador, it shows me how different things are in other parts of our country and I, for one, love that kind of stuff. I know McDonald’s does great things in communities and even though I don’t partake I appreciate the brand and I love seeing your family outings there. Thanks for telling me about the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkansas. Happy Belated Birthday My friend.

Happy Belated Birthday! Such a great thing for you to do and it is so easy to donate to the Ronald McDonald House. A lady that I used to work with was able to stay there when her son was in the hospital in a different city. It definitely eased the burden for her.
